Genito-Urinary Medicine - Sexual Health

Sexual Health Services

The GUM/CASH service is currently unable to offer a cervical screening service. We advise patients to please contact their GP to book an appointment with their Doctor/Practice Nurse. The Trust is looking into the future provision of cervical screening.

As from the 2nd February our appointment system in GU Medicine is changing slightly to accommodate our patients. We now have both pre- bookable appointments as well as same day appointments. Please ring if you require a same day appointment, you will be assessed over the telephone and allocated an appointment time depending on availability.

You may be in the department between 1-2 hours.

We provide a confidential service for the management of sexually transmitted infections and HIV as well as promoting sexual health.

Where are we?

We are in the main hospital on Level C, along the corridor from the main Outpatient department and opposite the hospital chapel.

Our staff are well trained, non-judgmental and experienced in dealing with personal problems. Most of our patients refer themselves to the clinic and are seen in private appointments. If you think you might need urgent attention, we can give you an appointment within 2 days, sometimes sooner if it is very urgent. To find out about our services and staff, please see the navigation menu on the left.
