Fellowship in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty
The lower limb Arthroplasty team at Rotherham Hospital, part of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, consists of seven Consultants, one Fellow, two Specialist Registrars, Junior Doctors, Physiotherapists and an Arthroplasty Nurse.
This Fellowship is for a fixed term of twelve months, commencing on the 1st October of each year.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an active and well-organized department, staffed largely by an enthusiastic group of Consultants who run regular teaching sessions and are committed to career progression and furthering education. The Fellowship is specifically designed for a Senior Orthopaedic Trainee (or equivalent) that is post FRCS (Orth) exam, and planning a career in lower limb Arthroplasty.
The aim of the Fellowship is to provide clinical training and experience in all aspects of advanced primary and revision Hip and Knee Surgery. Fellows are encouraged to undertake new and ongoing research projects, and will be expected to present and publish their work. Rotherham Hospital has a large database on Metal-on-Metal Hip Replacements and Resurfacings, and there is a potential scope for research into this area.
